Res Publica and Inter-Galactic Federation Declare Ceasefire
Iliszorary I- NNN Breaking -- NyrNewsNet Live

A conflict that broke out just outside of the Aurlinfinn cluster last week has been brought to a close with the signing of a ceasefire by Imperator Arya Astra of Res Publica and Admiral Omnius Prime of Inter-Galactic Federation. The war had started when Guild of the Fallen, with assistance from Jolly Rogers, attempted to seize Iliszorary station from the now defunct faction, the Original. Former members of the Original reformed under the IGF banner to hold on to the region, and were supported by Phantoms Shadow. After Guild pulled out of the area due to public criticism, Res Publica made a claim on one of the two Original station systems, Laucae. Although the fighting slowed down once Guild withdrew, both IGF and RP continued to attack each other's colonies in an attempt to force a conclusion. That conclusion was reached tonight with an agreement that Iliszorary station would be held by IGF, and Laucae station would go to RP. In a public address, Imperator Astra stated, “With the state of the Grand Council in question, we can no longer look to Cinnhiliff to resolve our problems. It will be up to the Outer Empires to maintain order in the colonies. I am pleased to see that we were able to achieve an amiable resolution to this dispute. Let us put this hostility behind us, and work together to build a better future.”

Government Likely Finished
Cinnhilif I - ZDS Editorial

Astute readers will have noticed by now that prices of some items are on the rise, labor issues are not in fact settled, and representation of frontier systems remains in some doubt. Those with good sense as well will have seen analyses in these very pages of the implications inherent in rising prices in a supposedly controlled economy. ZDS have remarked before that the Grand Council is missing in action, and perhaps incapacitated or otherwise compromised as a very real fact.

Now it appears that another problem looms closer to home. ZDS cannot help but take sharp notice at the common factor in the price, wage, labor, and frontier representation troubles brewing these days. The Cinnhilif Council acts as the senior member in all four of those intersystem consultative boards, and no action has been taken by the government on any of those matters since just over one month ago.

For this reason, ZDS now believe that the Cinnhilif Council is missing and should be considered inactive. ZDS issues this opinion with a heavy collective heart, as it bodes poorly. Nonetheless, this appears to be the truth, and we will cease publication before straying from that ideal. ZDS would like very much to be wrong, and will cheerfully print a glowing retraction at the first shred of evidence. This is not likely, and all citizens, are advised to look to their own defenses.

Confederation Among Possibilities
NyrNewsNet -- Cinnhilif

Some local governments may have already begun to band together in the absence of an effective central government. A somber editorial by the influential, and normally apolitical, ZDS economic consultancy hammered home the point that to many observers, nobody is in control.

Adding to the confusion is a heated G-Net posting from Miles Darude, Provost of Langlinion University. "I can assure you that the government of Langlinion, or of the Langlinion Cluster, which functions perfectly well, will not stand for the destruction of our entire University system!"

That was the first in a series of indirect references to a frontier shadow government. Comments made eight days ago by a travel officer in the Leoftam government, in which he reportedly told them to brace for "VIP missions clear across government space" also point to such an arrangement.

NNN will continue to update this story as new information becomes available

Merivian Cluster Home of Commonwealth
This weekend several factions began setting up shop in the Merivian Cluster along the South Eastern edge of Quadrant two. There have been rumours for weeks of a colonization project being planned far outside of government space but apparently has been over a month in planning. The main factions behind this project were Appian Frontiers and Outlaw although National Union of Mines, Guild of the Fallen and Inter-Galactic Federation are all strong members of the Merivian Commonwealth.

I spoke with Unfrozen Jon of Appian Frontiers briefly who was celebrating the founding of the Merivian Commonwealth and had this to say, "We extend an open offer to any small factions or players that seek a cooperative and social experience shaping the Merivian Cluster". Since it was apparent Jon was celebrating a bit strongly, Rokk Skullcrusher of Outlaw added that there are some groundrules that should be followed by those settling in Merivia to ensure the best player experience. View details on Merivia in the public section of AppianFrontiers.com

Nick Succorso, Director of Commonwealth manufacturing, wished to thank those not in the Commonwealth for making this project possible such as Iron Union, Dark Matter and even Dorvil Barranis' Mercenary Services. Some speculate that Phantoms Shadow should be credited as their wars have prompted a changed outlook on life in Quadrant two.

NEWS FLASH The Heist of the Century?
Aurchan I - - NyrNewsNet

Guild of the Fallen has taken a major blow to their morale, and their wallet. Admiral Vanilla Chinchilla, founder of the GUILD has stolen more then 400,000 credits from the faction, and jumped ship to Jolly Rogers. Some have suggested that GUILD was founded as a scheme from the start. In a brief statement, Dorvil Barranis of Jolly Rogers said, "Vanilla was ready to start a new career, pulling a heist like that is a good sign that he will be going far as a pirate."

VC Rumours

There has been many questions, rumours and criticisms regarding the recent robbing of the Guild Bank by Vanilla Chinchilla. Many people state that it was a long-planned scheme from the start, others suggest it was just a moments decision. Members of Guild have been taking a "second look" at how Vanilla Chinchilla ran Guild and how there may have been signs of a scheme from the begining. Guild members have talked about how they now noticed fluctuations in the Guild bank, from small amounts, to large gaps. "new members joined Guild at least once a week, new members require a fee from the bank," says ex-Guild leader Vanilla Chinchilla, when he explains these changes. "loans were never really considered, due to the fact that Guild wasn't what you call a rich-faction."

Rumours about large changes in the bank are mostly fantasised by angry Guild members that are furious with the scandal. "I never noticed any fluctuations while Vanilla Chinchilla was leader." says current Guild leader, Dork Vader.

NyrNewsNet - Thormasade and Chanells

Dark Matter Spans Galaxy

A Dark Matter pilot named Saripul has reached the far side of the galaxy, establishing listening posts in a system tentatively named Dragadac. Nothing out of the ordinary was reported, once effects of time and distance were accounted for. Jedi Jackian, a Dark Matter spokesman, said that while the mission was expensive, it is expected to pay dividends in the short term, and that any rate, the scientific research alone justifies the cost.

According to Dark Matter's Business Director, Zaphod Beeblebrox, the payoff is not at all theoretical. "Saripul developed a longer range engine for the Explorator which is expected to carry benefits throughout the Dark and Zaphod line of ships and engines. These improvements are in research now and will be in products shortly."

Finally, Saripul himself was reserved upon returning from Dark Matter's Core Station at Chanells. "I don't know what it was like, really. I woke up shivering in a vat of goo to congratulations and accolades. Neat, but all I wanted was a hot bath." He said he was reviewing the vidlogs and telemetry from the mission, and unusually for a starship pilot, gigabytes of scanned documents, apparently written out by hand. "I have always preferred manual procedures, as a rule. They keep you alive when automation fails."

Recent Bombing Initiates GVMT E.M.P.s

Recent bombing on a top secret government research and development center have initiated several already malfunctioned E.M.P.s, or Electronic Magnetic Pulse, causing random, galaxy-wide electronic device crashes. Government officials say the E.M.P.s had been tested before showing signs of un-stableness, which they were then put on hold and to be further researched and eventually released later this year. The colony's attackers, now deemed as pirates, fled the seen when they struck a small oil refinery, shooting debris several thousand feet into the air. The E.M.P.s have been scattered around the Cinnhilif region and have even been reported as far down as Soltela. The government has put up a reward to those who find the devices in hopes to retrieve their years of research and study. In the meantime, government scientists urge citizens to reset their hand held devices after installing applications, as this will minimize the E.M.P.'s effect. They are also warning pilots to minimize long distance system scanning, specifically in the 600 light year range, as this could spark a sequence of device crashes not only to yourself but to other pilots in the area.

IGF Disbands, Res Publica Picks up the Pieces
Iliszorary I- NNN Breaking -- NyrNewsNet Live

The Inter Galactic Federation has ceased to exist as a Nyridion faction. In an attempt to merge the faction with Honour Guard, not all pilots went along with the switch to Commonwealth governance. In the fracture, Iliszorary Station was left with colonies belong to four different factions. Today saw the system unified under Res Publica control. Conflict broke out briefly between Res Publica and Honour Guard, when Omnius Prime attacked the colonies of a former IGF member. Omnius Prime has since left Honour Guard with its third leader in 24 hours. In a brief statement delivered from Iliszorary I, Imperator Arya Astra declared, “We are glad to see this dispute come to an end, and promise the citizens of Iliszorary that Res Publica guidance will make certain that your system does not descend in to a warzone, but is built in to a new economic hub for the Aurlinfinn Cluster. Res Publica declares that we bear no hostility to the remaining pilots of Honour Guard, I am sure they are looking resolidify their disrupted faction. Providing that the attack from Omnius Prime was a one off incident, we will leave Honour Guard's Aurlinfinn Cluster colonies unmolested.”

ZDS Economic Advisory
Cinnhilif - Prices To Jump
ZDS forecasts an imminent increase in prices.

Larger, more integrated producers will fare relatively well, and are now in a position to pass on significant relief as their colonization, mining, processing, and refining (CMPR) interests serve as a hedge to their embattled manufacturing arms. Companies which focus rather on colonization, exploration, research, and manufacturing (CERM) are already feeling the heat as the required raw materials have doubled and trebled in price.

As more CERM interests develop their own CMPR capabilities, this gap will narrow, but this process takes longer as the size of the interest decreases. Small interests and independent producers will be hardest hit while their own resources are diverted from ever-less profitable CERM into building an intially unprofitable CMPR base.

All items are expected to increase in price, with an intial jump in the prices of improved ship hulls, as these resource-intensive items are delayed by resource scarcity, reducing supply by not only a raw amount, but by shifting availability to the future.

Smaller interests are advised to seek partnerships with larger ones, while independent producers are advised to shelve research and manufacturing, and to focus on resource production.

Res Publica Denies GVMT Weapons Inspectors
Res Publica Denies GVMT Weapons Inspectors Access to Coulagil Research Station
Aurlinfinn I - NyrNewsNet

A team of GVMT weapons inspectors have been forced out of the Coulagil system by the Res Publica Imperial Navy. The GVMT Monitoring, Verification, and Inspecion Commission (GMOVIC) had sent the team after claims from the Merivian Commonwealth that Res Publica was engaged in the illegal research and development of biological weapons. Imperator Arya Astra has repeatedly denied the claims, but would not permit GVMT review of the station, insisting that GVMT bias would influence the commission’s results. GNN will continue to provide updates as this develops, but have also been denied access to the Coulagil system.

Res Publica Declares War on the Merivian Commonwealth
Iliszorary I-NNN Breaking – NyrNewsNet Live

In response to an attack from the Merivian Commonwealth on the Coulagil Research Station, Imperator Arya Astra has announced that if reparations are not made within 24 hours, that Res Publica and the Commonwealth will be at war. So far the Commonwealth has insisted that their attack was necessary to disrupt illegal research of biological warfare, and that no apologies or reparations will be made.

Although tensions are high among the citizens of Res Publica and the Iliszorary Merchant Guild, the Lion of the East has insisted that there is nothing to worry about, and that she is working on an agreement to protect non-military personnel and assets of Res Publica.

The Merivian Commonwealth and Res Publica Sign the Coulagil Accord
Aurlinfinn I - NyrNewsNet

Prior to the eruption of full scale hostilities, Imperator Arya Astra and Adam Smith of Merivia Appian Pilots League have signed in to effect the Coulagil Accord. In the interest of preserving the economies of both parties, the Coulagil Accord has put civilian vessels and colonies off limits from attacks, with the sole exception of the Coulagil System. Imperator Astra has pledged not to let the conflict spread to the civilians under her stewardship, and Mr. Smith has made a similar commitment to residents of the Commonwealth that the conflict will not jeopardize the security of the Merivian Cluster. Unaffiliated combat pilots across Nyridion have begun flocking to one side or the other, looking to make a name for themselves in the Res Publica / Commonwealth war.
